Fresh String Beans with Smoked Turkey

2-1/2 Pounds fresh string beans
2 Cups cold water
1 Cup chopped onion
1/2 Cup chopped and seeded green bell pepper
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1/2 Teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 Teaspoon pepper
1 (about 1 pound) SMOKED TURKEY WING
15-16 Ounces TURKEY BROTH or canned low-sodium chicken broth
 
  1. Remove stems from beans, wash thoroughly and cut into 2-3 inch pieces.
  2. Combine water, onion, bell pepper, garlic, salt, pepper, turkey and broth in a Dutch oven or stockpot; bring to a boil. Add beans; cover.
  3. Reduce heat; simmer 30 minutes. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until beans are tender. Remove from heat; and keep warm.
  4. Remove turkey from bone, shred turkey with 2 forks and return to stockpot. Heat thoroughly.
