Italian Turkey Burgers
| Ingredients |
| 1 Pound GROUND TURKEY |
| 1 Tablespoon ground oregano |
| 1 Teaspoon garlic powder |
| 1/4 Teaspoon ground pepper |
| To Taste salt |
| 4 Slices red onion, cut to 1/2-inch thickness |
| 4 Teaspoons olive oil |
| 4 Each hamburger rolls, split and lightly toasted |
| 2 Jarred roasted red peppers, drained and halved |
| 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese, freshly grated |
| |
- Prepare charcoal for grilling or heat broiler.
- Gently mix ground turkey with oregano, garlic powder and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Gently shape into 4 patties, about 1-inch thick.
- Grill or broil patties approximately 4 inches from source of heat. Cook patties about 14 to 15 minutes, turning once or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
- Brush onion with half the oil and cook, turning once, brushing second side with remaining oil until brown, about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Place turkey burger on roll. Top each with red pepper half, onion and Parmesan cheese, divided evenly.
