Ingredients
1 Pound GROUND TURKEY
1/2 Cup onion, chopped
1/4 Cup green pepper, chopped
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1 Teaspoon sugar
1/2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 Teaspoon ground cloves
1 Can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
1 Medium Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped
1/4 Cup golden raisins
2 Tablespoons pimiento stuffed olives, thinly sliced
As needed hot cooked rice
1/4 Cup almonds, toasted
 
  1. In large skillet, over medium-high heat, saute turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic until turkey is no longer pink.
  2. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apple, raisins and olives. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Serve over rice and top with toasted almonds.
