Turkey Picadillo
| Ingredients |
| 1 Pound GROUND TURKEY |
| 1/2 Cup onion, chopped |
| 1/4 Cup green pepper, chopped |
| 2 Cloves garlic, minced |
| 1 Teaspoon sugar |
| 1/2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon |
| 1/2 Teaspoon ground cumin |
| 1/4 Teaspoon ground cloves |
| 1 Can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes |
| 1 Medium Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped |
| 1/4 Cup golden raisins |
| 2 Tablespoons pimiento stuffed olives, thinly sliced |
| As needed hot cooked rice |
| 1/4 Cup almonds, toasted |
| |
- In large skillet, over medium-high heat, sauté turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic until turkey is no longer pink.
- Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apple, raisins and olives. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
- Serve over cooked rice and top with toasted almonds.
