Southern Cornbread Dressing
| Ingredients |
| 1/4 Cup margarine |
| 1 Cup celery, chopped |
| 3/4 Cup onion, chopped |
| 4 Cups cornbread, crumbled |
| 8 Slices dried bread, cubed |
| 1-3/4 Cups TURKEY BROTH |
| 1 Cup TURKEY GIBLETS, cooked and chopped |
| 3/4 Teaspoon salt |
| 1/2 Teaspoon poultry seasoning |
| 1/4 Teaspoon pepper |
| 1 Large egg, slightly beaten |
| |
- In medium-size skillet, over medium-high heat, heat margarine. Saute celery and onion in margarine until slightly tender.
- In large bowl combine celery mixture, cornbread, bread cubes, turkey broth, giblets, salt, poultry seasoning, pepper and egg. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.
- Spoon dressing into lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees F for 40+ minutes or until the internal temperature registers 165 degrees F.
