Dressing From The Heartland
| Ingredients |
| 1-1/2 Cups onion, chopped |
| 1-1/2 Cups celery, diced |
| 1-1/2 Cups green pepper, diced |
| 1/2 Cup margarine |
| 12 Slices dried bread, cubed |
| 1 Teaspoon poultry seasoning |
| 1/2 Teaspoon salt |
| 1/2 Teaspoon dried sage leaves |
| 1/8 Teaspoon black pepper |
| 1/2 Cup TURKEY BROTH, See Note |
| |
- In medium-size skillet, over medium-high heat, saute onion, celery and green pepper in margarine until tender.
- In large bowl combine onion mixture, bread cubes, poultry seasoning, salt, sage, pepper and broth. Mix well. Spoon dressing into lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish.
- Bake, covered, at 325 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes. Uncover last 5 minutes of baking time.
- ** Note: Prepare turkey broth with giblets ahead of time and chill.
