Introduces a Newly Designed WWW.EATTURKEY.COM Washington, D.C. (April 2003) – The National Turkey Federation (NTF) has launched a dynamic new look at www.eatturkey.com, employing eye-catching food photography, flash animation and advanced navigation to deliver the latest in culinary trends, menu applications and recipes. From the home page, visitors can link to the latest turkey trends in “Virtual Menu 2003,” the library of 30 celebrity chef demonstrations, the “what’s new” section highlighting recent additions to the site, the Recipe E-mail program registration form and the searchable database of more than 600 foodservice recipes. “We continue to upgrade eatturkey.com with new content and design elements to keep it a valuable resource for operators looking to succeed with turkey items,” comments Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF’s director of public relations. “The enhancements to our web site make it that much easier for time-stretched foodservice professionals to find current trends, creative applications and proven recipes from leaders in the industry.” The redesigned home page at eatturkey.com spotlights a unique turkey application with full color photography to provide inspiration for chefs and operators who want to add excitement to their menus. Additionally, visitors may view “Virtual Menu 2003” to learn how independents and chain restaurants are benefiting from the growing popularity of turkey across cuisines and in trendy salads, sandwiches and soups. Arby’s, the Fireplace in Boston, and Wildflower Bread Company in Arizona are just a few of the participants in “Virtual Menu 2003.” Also available from the home page are the site’s virtual cooking demonstrations, delivered by such renowned chefs as Todd English, Susan Goss and Michael Foley. Clicking on a chef’s image brings the visitor to a page displaying the pictures and recipes of all 30 participating chefs, which links to their individual step-by-step presentations of a signature turkey dish, an interview and a brief career biography. Another addition to the home page is the “What’s New” section, which will be periodically updated to link visitors with the latest information on the site. Currently the “What’s New” button connects to information on Subway receiving NTF’s first T.O.M. award (Turkey on the Menu), recognizing the chain’s market strength and innovation with turkey. The popular Recipe E-mail program, where visitors can register to receive unique turkey recipe ideas, also appears on the newly created home page, as does the NTF recipe database of more than 600 foodservice recipes.
