Relations with Cuba

The National Turkey Federation (NTF) is proud to be a member of the U.S. Agriculture Coalition for Cuba (USACC). We share the belief that the improvement of agricultural trade between the U.S. and Cuba is the foundation for building successful and enduring relations between countries.

"While there have been limited turkey exports to Cuba, the Administration’s recent policy changes will allow an increase in agriculture trade. We are excited to share our delicious, healthy products with the Cuban people", said Joel Brandenberger, NTF president.

Over the last 30 years, the turkey industry has gone from mainly marketing a single-product consumed at holidays or special occasions, to offering a diverse array of food choices, from burgers, deli meats, sausage and more.  Increasingly, consumers across the world are including turkey in their daily diets because of its health benefits, versatility, and great taste.

Today, the turkey industry contributes $26 billion to the U.S. economy annually, and employs between 20,000 and 25,000 people, with tens of thousands more working in related industries such as product distribution, equipment manufacturing,  and a wide variety of affiliated services.
