National Turkey Federation (NTF) President Joel Brandenberger announced the promotion of Adrienne Richards to public relations specialist.
“The federation is fortunate to have a dedicated and professional staff member who has made significant contributions to NTF in its efforts to promote and protect the industry,” said Brandenberger.
As public relations specialist, Richards will direct a public relations campaign to generate more interest in turkey consumption and drive consumers and foodservice professionals to learn more on NTF’s Web site, www.eatturkey.com. In her new role, she will write and edit the NTF monthly newsletter, along with draft articles for trade publications and other communication materials for the federation.
The position of public relations specialist is new to the federation. NTF’s Executive Committee authorized creation of the position after the consumer news release series, managed by Richards, saw impressive media attention.
“Adrienne’s energy and hard work made her the right candidate for this position,” said Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF’s vice president of marketing and communications. “She has great creativity that generates innovative ideas to get multiple audiences to think about eating turkey more often.”
Richards joined NTF in 2007 as a public relations coordinator. During that time, she organized the consumer release series that included the launch of NTF’s turkey “voki,” which saw increased consumer and media attention and the appearance on Reuters News Board in Manhattan’s Times Square.
Richards is a graduate of Wilkes University where she received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies.
