From the initial turkey purchase to creative menu solutions, the National Turkey Federation's (NTF) recently upgraded Web site, eatturkey.com, offers foodservice operator support with its complete guide for the holidays. Visitors to eatturkey.com are welcomed by a cartoon turkey that connects them to holiday cooking tips, making successful menu planning a simple "click away."
The "Seasonal & Holiday" ideas section provides numerous recipes and preparation tips for utilizing the whole bird and separate parts of the turkey. During the holiday season, eatturkey.com has become the go-to, quick-reference guide for restaurateurs to get creative with the centerpiece of the Thanksgiving meal, turkey.
"With nearly every American wanting to eat turkey at Thanksgiving, foodservice operators are looking to add twists to their menus," said Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF's vice president of marketing and communications. "When visiting eatturkey.com, guests can find recipes for preparing the traditional Thanksgiving feast in addition to a database full of flavorful rubs and marinades. The vast selection of recipes lends itself to creative menu ideas that incorporate regional specialties.”
With eatturkey.com's extensive recipe database containing more than 900 foodservice recipes, menu planning is much easier with ideas not only for main entrees, but also for soups, side dishes and using turkey leftovers.
"Foodservice operators are incorporating turkey recipes into their meal rotation all year long, not only on Thanksgiving," said Rosenblatt. "Our upgraded Web site gives visitors many more reasons and ways to cook with turkey products."
Visitors are invited to also sign up at eatturkey.com to receive a recipe E-mail the first Thursday of every month that highlights seasonal turkey recipes, along with cooking tips, trends and the latest news on turkey products.
To view the "Seasonal & Holiday" ideas section log onto eatturkey.com and click on the cartoon turkey or visit eatturkey.com/foodsrv/holiday.html.
