Turkey on the Menu (T.O.M.) Hall of Fame Recognizes Winners of National Turkey Federation Award

Winners recognized for their commitment to market success with turkey in their operations

For the past five years, National Turkey Federation (NTF) has honored foodservice operators who show creativity, innovation and success with turkey in their establishments, with the Turkey on the Menu (T.O.M.) Award. NTF began recognizing this very commendable group of operators in 2003 with a single winner, and have expanded it to include the categories of fast food/quick serve, fine dining, casual/family style and non-commercial.

Housed on NTF’s award-winning Web site, www.eatturkey.com, the T.O.M. Award Hall of Fame pays tribute to those operators who have made turkey a stand-out element on their menus and created new and exciting ways to serve this very versatile and on-trend protein to their guests.

“The T.O.M. Award Hall of Fame was created to distinguish all of the extraordinary past winners and recognize their commitment and dedication to serving turkey on their menus,” said Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF’s vice president of marketing and communications. “It also serves to encourage foodservice operators to menu turkey and join this elite group of successful operators.”

The distinguished winners of T.O.M. Award include:

6th Annual: Jimmy John’s (fast food/quick serve; locations in 35 states), Perkins and Marie Callender’s Restaurant and Bakery (casual/family-style; locations nationwide), ARAMARK Corporation (non-commercial; corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA)

5th Annual: Wendy’s (fast food/quick serve; locations nationwide), Bob Evans (casual/family-style; locations nationwide)

4th Annual: Mimi’s Café (locations in 23 states)

3rd Annual: The Machine Shed (locations throughout Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin)

2nd Annual: Schlotzsky’s (locations in 35 states)

1st Annual: Subway (locations nationwide)

The most recent awards were presented in May at the National Restaurant Association Convention in Chicago. Next year’s award ceremony will be at the same venue.
