NTF Promotes Three Staff Members
Washington, D.C., January 11, 2007 -
National Turkey Federation (NTF) President Joel Brandenberger announced the promotion of three NTF staff members: Sherrie Rosenblatt to vice president of marketing and communications; Michael Rybolt to director of scientific and regulatory affairs; and Brie Wilson to director of member and convention services.
“The Executive Committee and I congratulate these three dedicated, hard-working individuals who all have made important contributions in helping NTF achieve its strategic long-term goals,” said Brandenberger.
“These positions are integral to NTF’s success. Our marketing and communications programs serve as the public face of NTF and the turkey industry. Technical and regulatory affairs help ensure common-sense, effective, science-based regulations, which are vital to the industry’s future, and of course, member services is the lifeblood of any trade association. These promotions reinforce the federation’s commitment to excellence.”
As vice president of marketing and communications, Rosenblatt will ensure NTF’s marketing programs continue to utilize a variety of distribution channels to build awareness of turkey products. She also is responsible for designing and implementing the public relations program to enhance the image of the turkey industry. An eight-year NTF veteran, Rosenblatt most recently served as senior director of marketing and communications.
Before joining NTF, Rosenblatt spent 15 years at Food Marketing Institute, the trade association for the supermarket industry. She received a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from the University of Maryland.
Rybolt is NTF’s primary liaison to the federal agencies whose regulations affect turkey production and processing. Through his management of the Technical and Regulatory, Live Production and Turkey Health and Worker Safety and Health committees, Rybolt facilitates policies for NTF that ensure those regulations are workable and science-based. Recently, he was appointed by the Agriculture Secretary to serve on USDA’s National Animal Identification System Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Foreign Animal and Poultry Diseases.
Rybolt most recently served as NTF’s manager of scientific and regulatory affairs. During his three years at NTF, he completed his Ph.D. in veterinary medical science with an emphasis on food safety from Mississippi State University. Rybolt also holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Mississippi State.
As director of member and convention services, Wilson oversees all NTF membership activities, including recruitment and retention of federation members, as well as planning and coordinating NTF annual conventions, meetings, workshops and seminars.
Wilson joined NTF in 2000 as an assistant, and then was promoted to coordinator, in the government affairs department. In her most recent position as manager of member and convention services, she helped NTF set a new record for member recruitment. Wilson is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she received a bachelor’s degree in political science.
