WASHINGTON D.C. - September 2005 - From the beaches of California to our nation's capital, culinary professionals across the country are embracing regional flavors this holiday season. For the months of September through December the National Turkey Federation (NTF) is showcasing these creative menus on their Web site, EatTurkey.com. In addition, the site offers an impressive array of preparation ideas and demonstrations from chefs nationwide.

"Traditional whole roasted turkeys are still popular around the holiday season, yet culinary professionals are also using regional flavors and inspiration to create a memorable holiday meal for their patrons," comments Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF's senior director of marketing and communication.

A few of the holiday menu ideas on EatTurkey.com include:

  • Roasted Whole Turkey and Jasmine Rice Stuffing with Apricots, Almonds, Fresh Thyme and Sage from Chef Zov Karamardian of Zov's Bistro in California.
  • Turkey Roulade with Savory Herb and Roasted Corn Stuffing, Turkey Jus with Citrus Cranberry Chutney and Orange-Rum infused Mashed Sweet Potatoes from Chef Amy Visco of Ellington's Restaurant in Florida.
  • Herb Crusted Turkey Scaloppini topped with Bleu Cheese Medallions studded with Toasted Missouri Pecans Vignoles Buerre Blanc and Dried Cherry Coulis from Chef Timothy Grandinetti of the Renaissance Grand Hotel in Missouri.
  • Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Studded Turkey Breast with Whipped Maple Sweet Potatoes from Chef Craig Hartman of the Morrison Clark Inn in Washington, D.C.
