Chefs Robert and Ouida Merrifield own and operate Tulsa, OK's top-rated restaurant, The Polo Grill - recipient of the "Wine Spectator Award of Excellence." Chefs Robert and Ouida are reputable foodservice industry veterans, each with more than 20 years experience in the culinary arts. Chef Robert's career took off after attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Over the years he has worked at such prestigious California establishments as Valentino in Santa Monica and La Famigilia's in Beverly Hills, "where people are accustomed to being pampered," according to Robert. Today, Chef Robert and his wife, Ouida, own and operate the Polo Grill.
Chef Ouida began teaching cooking in her home in 1973 and has owned and operated four restaurants throughout her 25-year culinary career. She has been employed in corporate catering and opened her own catering business prior to creating the Polo Grill, which she now owns with her husband, Robert. Ouida is known for having a discerning palate and an eye for presentation. She has experienced foods from all over the world first-hand, including Europe, Scandanavian countries, Northern Africa, the Middle East and South America.
Since they opened The Polo Grill, it has been nothing but a success story. Chef Robert, who has earned the reputation as a foodservice conductor, sets the tone for a memorable dining experience at the Polo Grill. In his spare time, Chef Robert shares his charisma with the public by doing cooking demonstrations on various local television programs and he has been featured in countless newspaper and magazine articles.
